Scholarships for Members Studying Arts-related Areas
There are several scholarships available to members based on their academic field of study. A gift to any of these scholarship funds, including those below, ensures that sisters pursuing specific majors will continue to benefit from these scholarship opportunities.
- The Judith Hayes Hand Scholarship benefits sisters studying art history, or art administration, fine arts, studio arts or similar fields of study and was established by Judith, Epsilon Alpha, in 2013.
- The Jane A. Graf Scholarship benefits sisters studying theatre, music or the dramatic arts and was established in 1999 by the Detroit North Suburban Alumnae Club in honor in Jane A. Graf, Alpha Delta. Jane was the wearer of the Circle of Epsilon Pi and served as Trustee of the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. She entered Chapter Grand in 2006.
- The Sir Harry Polche Scholarship benefits sisters studying art history and fine arts and was established by Natalie Chuma, Alpha Theta. Natalie established this scholarship in memory of her parents, Mary and Nicholas Chuma, and in honor of Sir Harry Polche, Natalie's brother-in-law, who passed away in December 2000. Sir Harry Polche was a police officer for the 23rd precinct on Manhattan's Upper East Side, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1981. His love for the arts was evident by returning to college after his retirement, earning multiple degrees and whose works of art were displayed at LaGuardia College.
